SATX Live Music Roundup for March 29-31 (THURSDAY-SATURDAY)
Get that refund check cashed in right away because there are a ton of live shows to catch this weekend! Unfortunately, we’ll be saying farewell to two of the scene’s most-loved bands: The Hooch and Saturday Night Satellites.
The good news is that you can be there to see their final performances. Be a part of history and buy the band a shot! Or two? It’s the weekend and we’re not counting…

SATX Music had a great time at The Lost Project’s CD release on Friday at Hi-Tones. Below, read an excerpt of the show review written by Libby Day. Click here to read more about how the night went down.
I walked into Hi-Tones at 10:45 p.m. and had to double-check my watch – am I late? The floor was cleared of its usual tables and chairs, and people filled the space instead. I was right on time for The Lost Project’s CD release show, and so was everybody else.

Dance, punk, ska, indie, soul, jazz, reggae, pop-punk – all sounds that were present and accounted for thanks to an awesome line-up. People, myself included, couldn’t get enough.
Just a reminder, San Antonio’s Local Music Week is just seven days away! Last year set the bar really high for turnout and enthusiasm, so make sure to spread the word about the festivities to your friends and family this time around. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to catch your favorite bands as well as some you may not have heard of yet. This is a community supported effort - there is no single corporation or company that overwhelmingly benefits monetarily or otherwise. LMW 2012 is about generating awareness about SATX’s music scene and bringing in individuals that wouldn’t normally think to make it out to shows. So bring in those outsiders and most of all, have fun because it’s a celebration!

Hope you had a fun almost-tornado this week! Thirsty Thursday is upon us, which means SATX Music has a fresh new live music Roundup to get your weekend started right.
On Friday, San Antonio-based The Lost Project will host their debut album release at Hi-Tones - the Strip’s newest darling - with support from Bite Lip Bleed, Heather Go Psycho and The Bandulus (Austin). The Lost Project are flooding the streets with free-download cards for their debut EP. If you haven’t been lucky enough to get one, head over to the band’s Facebook page for frequent updates about how to get it starting tomorrow. We’ll be sharing our thoughts about their indie dream-pop project next week - stay tuned!
Local Music week is just around the corner! Take this chance to really get involved in the city’s music scene. Whether you’re a musician, venue, promoter, fan or none of the above, Local 782 can use your help to spread the word about its week-long effort.
From April 1-7, you’ll have the opportunity to attend a slew of free shows and events to promote home-grown artistry. Make it a point to see an act you’ve been curious about, share your favorite local band’s album on Facebook and Twitter, and mention the cause to your family and co-workers.
And when you do, do us a solid and mention SATX Music’s event listings as a valuable resource for finding information about local shows. We feature all genres, so there’s something for everyone, and you can be sure the specifics are thorough and up-to-date.

This is undoubtedly the craziest Monday-Wednesday Roundup we’ve had to tackle! Maybe we didn’t “spring forward” so well. Or maybe those students who are Spring Breaking have a fever and the only prescription is seeing a TON of live music (with or without the cowbell).

SATX Live Music Roundup for March 1-3 (THURSDAY-SATURDAY) featuring Collective Dreams
Welcome to March, and a brand new weekend Roundup. Below we have a detailed list of upcoming live music events in San Antonio. But first, we’d like to introduce you to a great band that goes by the name, Collective Dreams.
SA-based Collective Dreams have a knack for creating ambient instrumental tracks that say so much without using a single word. Their songs are really emotional narratives, meaning you don’t have to know what the song’s about to understand its meaning. The band tries to guide you through a journey with their sounds, inserting rapid drum beats and ethereal guitar riffs to keep your heart and feet moving.
Their live shows are also something unique. It’s hard to captivate a crowd without speaking to them, yet the dedication to each performance bleeds through the speakers. It’s not unheard of for spectators to go home with a broken drum stick as a souvenir - these guys leave it all on stage
In one week Collective Dreams will be joining three of the hottest bands in San Antonio on The Strip for one hell of a party at Limelight. Deer Vibes, Tangible Green and The Way The World Ends all have similar penchants for existential tunes and epic showcases.
